Visual Arts

Year 7 | Year 8 | Year 9

Year 7 and 8 students can choose to study Visual Arts gaining experience with a wide range of art materials to create drawings, prints, paintings, sculptures and other art works.
 
In Year 9, students hone their skills in 2D and 3D art for one or two semesters. They are introduced to ‘Design Thinking’ and creative problem solving in a Graphic Design based task.
 
In all Visual Arts courses, students discuss and write about their own work and that of other artists, to learn about how they express their ideas. They are assessed on their skills, knowledge and understanding in practical and written tasks.
 

All Year 7, 8 and 9 Visual Arts courses equip students with the skills and knowledge to achieve success in SACE Stage 1 and 2 Visual Arts courses.

It is recommended that if students wish to pursue this course of study in Year 11 and 12 that they successfully study the foundation courses in Years 7, 8 and 9.
